~ Happy Friday Lovies ~
Today is a good day. I am most likely already in a car headed to Charleston for my BFF's Bachelorette party. I have been waiting for this weekend since she got engaged. That's a lie...I've actually been waiting for this weekend since we became friends. What is better than showering your BFF with love, lingerie & liquor? NOTHING! So, in honor of this long awaited weekend, I have for you the top five Bachelorette Party must haves!
*PS...I just want to warn you now...there is a 99% chance I won't post on Monday due to a serious case of over-indulging. But, I will post all the fabulous (and appropriate) pics on Tuesday.
This can absolutely make or break the mood of any celebration. Believe me..I've had to play DJ for a stripper on South Beach named Romeo who arrived at another friend's bachelorette party utterly unprepared & over-whelmed. And let's just end the conversation by saying Beyonce (which is all I had on my iPhone) wasn't necessarily Romeo's "jam." So ladies...music is key. Here are my top Pandora stations and/or songs to make sure you include at your party:
Bachelorette Party Radio*
*(Y'ALL...the first song to come on this station was Britney's Toxic. Need I say more!?!?)
Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout
"We Found Love", Calvin Harris
"A Little Party Never Killed Nobody", Fergie
"Blurred Lines", Robin Thicke
"Fancy", Iggy Azalea
"Bang Bang", Jessie J
"Rather Be", Clean Bandit
Any song by Britney Spears or Beyonce
Champs is a must...duh! And good champs; you can afford to bypass the Andre' for this type of celebration. Rose' is all the rage right now, so do your homework and get something pink & yummy.
Now if you're like me, too much champagne (like more than 1/2 a glass) gives me a headache so I am always on the lookout for something else. Here are some other tasty & fun recipes I've come across.
1½ oz. Absolut Berri Açaí
Fill a tall glass with ice.
Pour all ingredients into the glass, stir, and garnish with slice of grapefruit.
Source: Mixologists Chris Patino and Jamie Gordon
2 oz. grapefruit juice
2 oz. pomegranate juice
Garnish: grapefruit slice
1½ oz. tequila
Put all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake vigorously.
Serve on the rocks, and garnish with slice of lemon and mint.
Source: James Stuart, Parea, New York City
¼ oz. Campari
½ oz. fresh lemon juice
½ oz. honey
Garnish: lemon slice and mint leaf
1 1/2 oz Pear Vodka
3 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Cranberry Juice
In a chilled rocks glass filled with ice, add your vodka and pineapple juice. Top with a splash of cranberry juice.
Do I really need to go into details about this? If so...you're no longer welcome at the Bachelorette party. Here some great websites (other than Victoria's Secret & with varying price points) for naughty shopping.
Frederick's of Hollywood
When you are moving in a
cougar wolf pack through the night in honor of a Bachelorette, your outfit HAS TO BE ON POINT! You are representing your friend so get your shiz together! You know what they say...you are judged by the company you keep and we are all responsible for our bachelorette's reputation. Now the outfit will obviously depend on the events/location, however you should always look your best for whatever that may be. We are hitting the streets (not like hookers...well maybe some of us...or just me) and I will be posting lots of pics of my own personal outfits throughout the weekend.
**** As I am writing this, one of my dear friends arrived to spend the night so we could drive together tomorrow. What this means for you is a very abbreviated post AND no pics. Sorry!
Tylenol! Ibuprophen! Smart Water! Sunglasses!
