C. Wonder Blunder & "Ticket to Sunshine"

~ Good Morning Lovies ~

Today's Thrifty Thursday is SUPER exciting! Now I know you have all probably gotten a whiff of what Target & Lilly Pulitzer are cooking up. Amazing right!? Well, we'll get to that later.  What I want to talk about first is C.Wonder. Have you heard!? I hadn't heard either until one of my good friends (and followers) texted me last night with the news; C. Wonder is shutting their doors!!!

According to racked.com, "C. Wonder, the monogram-happy home goods and apparel line by Chris Burch, has abruptly shut down its Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. (Google+ and YouTube are still standing.)"  And Buzzfeed.com has confirmed, "that C. Wonder is officially shutting down. The company will shutter its remaining 11 stores in the next two to three weeks and the website will close down by the end of next week. Nearly all of C. Wonder's 100 remaining employees were let go today [Monday January 5th], with the exception of a couple people who will stay on to assist in closing down the stores." I "wonder" (get it) if it has anything to do with the lawsuit that Chris' ex-wife (lovely little lady who goes by the name Tory Burch) filed against him. I'm kind of a zealot for her stuff & I'm pretty sure we would be besties if she ever met me. But that's beside the point.

Soooooo, other than this being really sad for all those who loved C. Wonder, this is the PERFECT time to rack up on everything for super cheap. #SavvyShopperAlert. Their entire (yes, ENTIRE) site is 50% off...no code needed.

Here are all the items that I plan on adding to my "shopping bag." ;-)

Now, let's talk about what's on everyone's radar...Your "Ticket to Sunshine"...Lilly Pulitzer For Target!!!

According to abullseyeview.com, this
"limited-edition collection features 15 exclusive prints, which are original works of art, created by Lilly Pulitzer artists specifically for this modern collaboration. Available exclusively at all Target stores in the U.S. and Canada and on Target.com beginning April 19, (mark that shit in your calendar people!) the 250-piece collection includes apparel, accessories and shoes for women and girls, as well as home accents, outdoor entertaining accessories, beach gear, travel essentials and more. 'This spring, we wanted to offer our guests a collection that embraced color, print and pattern in a bold, fresh way,' said Stacia Andersen, senior vice president, apparel and accessories, Target.'  Founded in 1959 by Lilly (McKim) Pulitzer — a stylish Palm Beach hostess and socialite whose husband Peter Pulitzer owned several citrus groves — the brand has an ingenious origin. Lilly would turn her husband’s fresh oranges into juice, which she sold at a juice stand off posh Worth Avenue. She wasn’t a stranger to hard work, but Lilly never wanted to look anything but fashionable, so she created kicky printed shift dresses to wear while working at the stand because the patterns camouflaged the juice spills beautifully. Catching the eye of more than one passerby, including the likes of Jackie Kennedy, Lilly started selling her dresses at her juice stand, and American resort wear was born. Since then, Lilly Pulitzer has evolved into a brand that stands for boldness, individuality and optimism — every day’s a beach day when you’re wearing Lilly!
'The Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection marks a new chapter for our brand, and we’re excited to give Lilly fans everywhere, including those who have loved the brand for years and those who will get to know it for the first time through this collaboration, a chance to experience this incredibly chic lifestyle collection.'"

ARE YOU DYING WITH EXCITEMENT YET!?!? I can actually feel myself getting anxious about the website crashing or lines being too long and me not getting everything I want. Here are some photos of the collection that they've released...

I feel like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs! Ahhh...it's beautifully overwhelming! So go out and spend all your Christmas $ on the awesome C.Wonder Sale and then start saving up for April when "Sunshine" hits your local Target!!!

  2. So sad about C.Wonder :( I was in the Soho store the weekend it opened in 2011! I'm excited for Lilly at Target but hope it isn't being too overhyped. I felt like the last couple Target collaborations were disappointing.

  3. I never go for the Target partnerships but as a major Lilly lover, I can't pass up the accessories and home decor. Not sure about the clothing that will come out however...usually I love how her stuff holds up forever and can't imagine these will. I had not heard about C Wonder but that makes me really sad because it's such a great place to go for cute gifts!
