Race Wear

~ Hello Lovies ~

How are you!? How was your weekend!?  So this past weekend the hubby and I had the opportunity to go to Daytona Beach for the Florida 300 & Daytona 500 with some of our best friends and their family...so we obviously went! 1) We had a THE most fun! 2) We laughed A LOT! 3) I'm exhausted! 4) It was worth it!

We arrived around noon on Saturday to the RV Park, where our RV was appropriately donning the American Flag & Kevin Harvick Fathead.  Our hosts have the best parking place in Lot A right outside of turn 1, so we were a very short walk from the stands & our seats, and right in the middle of all the action; and boy was there some great people watching!

Turn 1

We quickly parked the car, cracked our first beers & popped a squat (on Gator seats of course) to catch up with the crew and have lunch before the Florida 300 started.

The sun was shining but it was a bit breezy & cool so we were all in long sleeves & jeans.  This was my #ootd (incl. my North Face fleece for later during the race).

And of course...what's spending a weekend in Daytona without meeting some friends along the way!?

We teamed up with partners and drew racers for the race on Saturday (it always makes it more fun) and my BFF Amanda & I drew Ryan Reed...and won!!!

We were up early Sunday morning...or late Saturday night. Either way, it was slow going until I was double-fisting a coffee & pomegranate, OJ mimosa! Ahhh...after those I felt much better ;-).  The 500 was scheduled to start at 1pm with Kid Rock (DETROIT!) going on at 12 noon so we wanted to make sure we were heading toward the infield by 10:30 to get seats.

 Shirt // Jeans // Boots

I originally put on this outfit for the day, but realized how HOT it was and decided to leave my chambray behind!

Our hubbies are sponsored by Raven Transport...they're "owners"
The Infield...SO COOL!

We got great "seats" for Kid Rock's concert and he was amazing! I'm a big fan of him (his music is...eh), but he is a great person.  He is so proud to be a Michigander and Detroit native.  He still lives there, hunts there, & is bringing jobs back there.  He has opened a brewery & distillery called American Badass Beer.  Their products are made in Detroit by Detroit natives.  He is philanthropic in the community & state and just an all around good guy. AND...his performance was perfect! He played the four best songs & got the whole crowd pumped up before the race.
Oh Hey Ryan Blaney...Team Ford Always!

For the 500 we picked racers individually and all my drivers shit the bed; I'm looking at you Carl Edwards & Brad Keselowski's engine!  BUT...my girl Amanda won with Joey Lagano...AND he drives a Ford! ;-).

We had a great time and couldn't have asked for better weather.  I was very tired yesterday but I'm so glad we went and would def recommend that this race (or Talladega) be on everyone's bucket list. Have a great Tuesday everyone!!
